After last year’s storm Steve was the only company to reply to my inquiry, came right out and immediately sent a crew out to remove tree from my roof and put a tarp on it to protect from weather. I own a tiny house in central Greenwich and I needed a replacement roof. I went to their website for a free estimate, Steven contacted me the next day, they actually checked the roof (it's an old house from 1900, the roof wasn't leaking but very old, in poor condition and a lot of layers) I got the proposal the day after. From their we did some adjustment and scheduled the job. Diego and his team did an amazing job, 2 and a half day later everything was done, roof, chimney and cleaning. Very professional and nice people. For sure Steven knows about roofing. Highly recommended company!

I could not be happier with the performance of Flying Colors Roofing and Painters. They were very responsive, contacting me within moments of my reaching out to them on a Sunday afternoon, they were punctual, professional, pleasant and most importantly, their work was excellent. They repaired the roof, repaired and adjusted the gutters while using the existing materials whenever possible and they patched, plastered and painted the damage that was done to the interior of the house to the point of it being completely gone.

Aside from just being very nice guys who clearly explained what they needed to do and why, they were clean, efficient and did exactly what they said they were going to do.

While nobody wants a roof leak to disrupt their living situation, it is good to know there is a company like Flying Colors who is available to make the repair when/if it is needed. I appreciate your good service.

It went very well. Excellent. Our experience with Flying Colors was outstanding! A call to Steve was returned promptly. Joe came to access the repairs due to the harsh winter- to flat roof, siding and trim. We are elderly, and Joe explained everything to us in detail. Steve followed with the cost estimate the next day. Within a few days of the estimate, they fit this job in their busy schedule. Joe was on the job from the beginning to the end, and Steve came by to meet us. It was a smooth, efficient, job well done. In our fifty years in our home, we have dealt with many companies. Flying Colors is at the top of that list due to the excellent manner in which they handled this job. Rest assured, we will call them again, and we encourage anyone looking for honest and capable people to call Steve.

After many estimates from highly rated Angieslist vendors, I chose Flying Colors to do both my roof and paint my house. From the first meeting, Steven distinguished himself by going through the entire process of estimate, timing, cost and process by which the work would be completed. He delivered on all levels.

The roof is perfect and beautiful.

The house looks incredible after power wash, scrapping, primer and painting.

Stress is involved spending this much money. Add in a 21 month old baby to the mix and...you get the idea. Worry and stress.

Steven and Flying Colors were thoughtful, professional and made sure that my family and I knew we were as much of a priority as the job itself. They went the extra mile on a few items that we asked them to address. There was minor damage to a window that they immediately brought to my attention and took care of it. From the moment they arrive to the moment the job was complete, I was at peace.

Steven Totilo, his foreman, and the rest of the roofing crew were great. I needed the job done as an emergency and Steven came to my rescue without hesitation. Everyone was very professional and I would not hesitate to recommend them. The clean up was as if they had never been there. The roof looks great and I plan on asking Steven to do some paining and carpentry work during the warmer months.

Steve was awesome. REALLY concerned to get everything just right. Gave a great quote for some really difficult work on an old house. Did a couple extra things that were needed. A lot of nice custom flashing work around chimney etc. Has his own gutter guy who was amazing on a job that others said they would not touch. And fast. He does a lot of roofs and has it down to a science. Could not ask for a better job.

I wanted to say thank you for doing an excellent job. I noticed the painter touched up around the garage doors and the soffits which is appreciated since this was not included in our contract.



Just like all of the reviews I read about Flying Colors, I too am a 100% satisfied customer. You did everything you said you would do, when you said you would do it, with no hassle. What impressed me the most and exceeded my expectations was the level of customer service you follow. I was amazed when all phone calls and emails where answered immediately even after hours and on weekends. I have yet to hire another tradesman to work on my house who have come close to this.

Couldn't be happier with the extremely high level of customer service, work effort and final product provided by Flying Colors. Here's why:

Of 4 roofers I contacted in Fairfield County (3 with high Angie's List ratings, one with an added personal rec from a contractor I had worked with before), Flying Colors was the first to respond -- via email within an hour and then with a call to set up an estimate appointment within two hours. The others took a week and only after I had to make follow up calls or emails.

FC was one of only two to that actually inspected the whole roof by climbing on it, and the only one to check it from inside the attic, too.

All quotes were for similar products (GAF shingles and underlayment, add Cobra ridge vent) and work, however, FC's also included new front gutters and soffits for added attic ventilation which I knew from a house inspection years ago that we needed. Still, price came in middle of the pack of three all within $1,000 of $10K - just where I expected; fourth roofer came in at $15K) One caveat on all the quotes - might need to replace plywood in case of rot or other issues: approx $50-$60 per sheet. Roofers don't know if plywood needs replacing until the old shingles come off.

Went with Flying Colors because of reputation (I checked with their provided refs as well as those on Angie's List) and obvious commitment to customer service. Steve, the owner, was eager to get my business, in regular contact with me before I went with him, and never tried to upsell me.

In three words… HIRE THIS GUY. Steven Totilo, the owner of Flying Colors, was fantastic to work with – always punctual, very responsive to emails, meticulous in his approach and in the demands made to his team. He was a true professional and it was clear he takes genuine pride in delivering first class service to his customers. The team he has assembled all work quickly and with great skill. They did an impeccable job, were courteous at all times and made sure they left everything clean and tidy at the end of each day. The project was initially just an interior painting project, but as soon as I could see that they were delivering on everything that had been promised, the exterior was booked in. And when Steven confirmed that they would also be able to take care of some repairs to the roof, flashing, siding, new gutters and some general exterior carpentry, it wasn’t a hard call to make. Needless to say, all these various projects were completed to my full satisfaction and I would recommend him without hesitation.
